Today is the 4
th day of home quarantine for us (my son
actually)..We returned home from
Pantai Cheras yesterday where our little
Dhani was admitted for mild lung infection..What took us there?
Dhani still having cough and flu after his high fever end last Saturday. We decided to bring him to Dr.
Bavani. Guess what??
"I'm going to do throat swab for Influenza A test".. Then you need to bring him to x ray room and come back here with the film..."
....With the result, Dhani was admitted for close monitoring and of coz to cure him.
3 days admitted, Dhani was given oseltamivir (tamiflu) twice a day+antibiotics (through oral and drip), cough, flu and and fever medicine (even he is no more in fever)..too many medicine to mention. He has to inhale through nabulizer every 3 hours and had body oxygen check also every 3 hrs (reading should not drop less than 90..thank god tak pernah, if not tak boleh discharge). Finally on the last day Dhani attended physiotherapy to help him breath better and the physio did a procedure to get rid excessive phlegm..dengan segala wayar masuk hidung dan tekak..masyaallah..terjerit2 Dhani kami hanya boleh tengok sahaja..let's experts do their job..and we parent just watch??rasa macam useless tak tolong baby yang terjerit2..but dear it's for your own good.
Akhir sekali, Dr Bavani kata, "he is getting better, everything is very close to normal and you may continue his medicine at home". Bring him back on coming Friday for checkup just to make sure that everything is fine after he complete his medicine.."
Alhamdulillah..syukur kami bawa Dhani awal ke hospital.. Have you guys heard about pneumonia? Pneumonia is an imfllammatory illness of the lung which can result from a variety of causes, including infection with bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites, and chemical or physical injury to the lungs.
In this case, Dhani's lung was infected (mild infection) most probably by Influenza A virus. It may leads to pneumonia or at least bronchitis if not cured early. Dan mungkin kelewatan menangani kes ini akan menjurus kepada pneumonia dan mungkin menambah bilangan 72 kepada 73..Nauzubillah..

Just quoting from a site:
"I HAVE been sick for about three weeks now. I wasn't paranoid about this at first as I thought it was just the flu.
Runny nose, coughs, headaches. I went in and out of clinics, and even --- trying to get a throat swab just in case as there was a confirmed case.
At ----, the medical staff refused to do a swab as I didn't have a high enough temperature. They said the possibility of getting dengue and dying from it was higher compared to H1N1. I was told to go home and rest, or get a blood test for dengue instead. When the doctor suggested a blood test, I did not want to get it done there as it would take another two hours. I had already spent over two hours for my turn to see her at ---.
Then the 20-year-girl in Malacca died of H1N1 complications last week – 11 days after she had contracted the virus. It was hard not to be paranoid after that because doctors did not know that she was H1N1 positive, and her family thought she merely had the flu.
Her story hit home hard as she was around my age and had been sick for 11 days. She died just because she had failed to seek treatment at a hospital early, as clinics had told her it was merely a flu.
I even went to ----(another hospital) and was told the same thing. None of them wanted to do throat swabs. I know that hundreds of people are getting overly paranoid. But it’s hard not to get caught up in the fear, especially when people of all age groups are contracting the virus and dying from it, without knowing why. What we are seeking is confirmation that our health and well-being is protected and safe.
And here I am, showing the symptoms, yet I have been sent on a wild goose chase from clinics, to ---, to ---- Hospital. They brushed me off, saying there is nothing. But isn’t that how the girl died? Because doctors told her it was “nothing”? How can I be absolutely certain that it’s “nothing” even if I’m showing half the symptoms they speak of and even after taking multiple kinds of medication?
-----A lesson to learn
Not all of us are fortunate to pay for the so called "expensive test" just to confirm that we are free from the virus.. ataupun to pay for the medication @ vaccination if we have been infected.
Amin...
